VICTORIA BECKHAM READY-TO-WEAR
For Spring/Summer 2012 the Victoria Beckham ready to wear collection offers a strongly focussed range of dresses and outerwear.
Taking inspiration from geometric lines while enhancing these with her own take on elegant sportswear and her synonymous signature silhouettes, Victoria has created a clean collection full of intricate yet subtle detailing that reflects her strong yet simple approach to the season.
Powerful yet quietly applied structure is apparent from the fitted forms of the signature dresses through to the relaxed volumes and lines of the outerwear, while the drop waist is a key feature that can be seen not only in feather light pleat skirts but is also carried through in seam details and colour block applications.
Graphic contrasts also appear in the form of fabric and texture juxtapositions while strong lines are created with utility strapping in features that are undeniably bold.
New hardware reinforces a fresh functionality within the collection – with silver studding appearing on pockets together with metal rings featuring on the grosgrain and cotton webbing straps and belt details.
The colour palette for the season is cohesive – blonde, white and greys appear against soft amethysts and stone shades in one group while navy, white, orange and tangerine make up the second colour story.
Using new fabrics such as the techno-stretch and yarn dyed double faced silks while continuing to explore the design possibilities of the materials such as her best selling dense rib jersey and gazaars, the bold femininity of the collection incorporates Victoria’s unique mix of effortless elegance together with her developing design aesthetic.
