HALSTON LAUNCHES “HALSTON HERITAGE” COLLECTION
Contemporary Line to Offer Ready-to-Wear, Handbags & Shoes
NEW YORK, NY, September 17, 2009 – Halston, the legendary American luxury brand, announces the launch of Halston Heritage, a collection of iconic pieces at contemporary price points across the ready-to-wear, handbags and shoe categories.
The secondary collection, a first for the brand, will reinterpret Halston archival pieces into wearable creations. The imagery evoked from the dresses Bianca Jagger donned or the sleek jumpsuits that were a favorite of Anjelica Huston will live on through this collection in a modern and practical manner. Highlights from the collection include tie-dye and sequined dresses, chiffon gowns, espadrille wedges and sac bags. Retail price points start at $55 for a t-shirt to $595 for dresses.
“We have had this idea since the beginning of the re-launch of Halston, because the iconic pieces emotionally resonate so strongly with a particular consumer base,” said Bonnie Takhar, President & Chief Executive Officer of Halston. “Since then, we have had both retailers and consumers ask us if we are ever going to reproduce some of the iconic pieces. The timing was right for us, given the current retail climate and the desire for designer names at accessible price points.”
The collection will roll out into fine and specialty retailers starting in Spring 2010. A dedicated Halston Heritage e-commerce site will follow, as will a potential spokeswoman who is representative of today’s modern Halstonette.
Halston Heritage will be directed entirely by the Halston design team, while Halston’s new Creative Director, Marios Schwab, will focus exclusively on the main line.
